The 3rd annual Dance Workshop NY performances 

Below are the important details for the show as answers to FAQs. Please read carefully.


  • Monday, June 3

  • 4:00pm & 6:30pm (We have 2 shows this year so please make sure you know which show your child will perform in)


  • The Kaye Theater at Hunter College – entrance on East 68th St. between Lexington & Park


  • You MUST PRINT your tickets to enter the theater


  • Ballet costumes are worn with PINK tights and PINK ballet slippers

  • Tap costumes are worn with BEIGE tights and BLACK tap shoes

  • Lyrical & Contemporary costumes are worn with BEIGE tights

  • Hip Hop costumes are worn with BEIGE tights 

    • exception, Monday 5pm/Thursday 4:30pm Hip Hop will NOT wear tights

  • Jazz costumes are worn with BEIGE tights with BLACK jazz shoes

  • Acro costume is worn with BEIGE FOOTLESS tights

*Ballet & Tap Combo Classes or students in multiple classes, please reference the information below to confirm what costume your child should arrive in – the information is sorted by Class Day/Time/Instructor


  • Ballet/Tap Combo, Lyrical & Contemporary Classes:

    • Pulled back in a tight bun - if hair is too short for a bun, put hair back in a ponytail and ensure it stays off the face

  • Hip Hop, Jazz & Acro Classes:

    • Ponytail 


  • Make-up is at your discretion.  If dancers plan to wear, keep in mind bright colors (red lipstick!) looks best on stage and more neutral shades may not be visible.

SHOW: Monday, June 3

4:00pm - Performance 1

ARRIVE @ 3:00pm 

EXCEPTION: 2 year old Ballet only classes (Monday 4:15pm & Wednesday 4:00pm) arrive at 3:30pm 

6:30pm - Performance 2

ARRIVE @ 5:45pm

Drop off is at the Stage door.

  • Dancers arrive in costume, tights & shoes for their first performance.  This information can be found below and is sorted by class date/time/instructor. 

  • All Students must wear tights (exception Monday 5pm & Thursday 4:30pm Hip Hop)

  • Hair & Make up must be done, including hair accessories in hair if part of the costume

  • Additional costume(s) organized in a separate garment or tote bag  

    • DANCERS under 8 years old are limited to 1 BAG per child

    • PLEASE LABEL ALL clothing, shoes, costumes & accessories

  • The Show will run approximately 60 - 75 minutes

  • Dancers cannot be dismissed until the end of the show.  At that time, dancers will be dismissed by class at the stage door by class.

  • Parents MUST wait in the hallway and cannot enter backstage area


  • Taking photos and/or video is NOT permitted during the performance on Monday

  • The performance will be professionally recorded and available for purchase as a DVD.  More details to follow.


  • Our backstage support is staffed with our trusted faculty to assist dancers throughout show, change costumes, etc.

    • If you have a younger child in a combo class, we welcome you to send a nanny or helper (no parents) backstage to stay with our staff and dancers for the entirety of the performance.  If you would like to volunteer someone please contact us ASAP with the name of the person so we can arrange access with security.  

    • Back stage support team must stay backstage for the entire performance

    • Dancers in BOTH performances CANNOT leave backstage area in between performances

  • Dancers may bring water and snacks - preferably healthy snacks that will not ruin their costumes 


  • No iPads or other electronic devices are permitted backstage.  Coloring books will be provided for younger dancers. 

  • Strollers will not be permitted backstage
